Theorycrafting - Tank.
I was just looking at some of the new skills, as I'm sure many of us are, and was looking at the possible synergy and new bars to come of them. I like tanking and farming and was looking to create a bar of this nature. While reading through the skills a few caught my eye, and though it's not really a bar at all was wondering if you guys thought the skills listed below had any potential:
1. Avatar of Melandru (+30 ele armour + 150 health)
2. Eternal Aura (+100 health)
3. Intimidating Aura (+100 health -10 damage) - assuming we run 15 mysticism and you have more health than an enemy-
4. Veil of thorns (~30% damage reduction from spells and some minor damage)
5. Mystic Sandstorm (decent damage 6 sec duration as always enchanted)
6. Mystic Twister (~100 damage as always enchanted)
7. Mystic Regeneration (Ample regeneation to survive most encounters +12-16)
8. Mantra of choice (energy management + ~30-40% damage reduction)
Maybe Mystic Vigor if damage taken is too heavy?
I appreciate this is nearly solely for caster/elemental mobs. Your thoughts?

My thoughts? run a ST rit with Avatar of Dwayna + Save Yourselves!
Devoting a character to sit there and take damage is counterproductive to making stuff die. Mystic Twister is not going to do much damage, it's 100 armor reduced damage every 8 seconds and I think Mystic Sandstorm causes scatter as well.
The reason why Shadow form is so rampant is because you can basically ignore spell damage. That's -100% spell damage.
70+15 (windwalker)+15 (mysticism)=100 armor

My thoughts are if you want a tank for the purposes of an organized pug or a hero team build revolved around balling, it doesn't seem like that bad an idea. Test it out!

Looks like it doesn't do anything well. Use an assassin for Shadow Form in speed clears. Your build serves no purpose in a group or H/H.

Be better if I stick to my SY! spamming, blocking maintaining build for tanking. It helps the team by effect, which is better in the long run.

Yes, we get it. Stop going through the threads and posting that on all of them. Not everyone like sins, not everyone has the desire to run SF. People are trying new things, because as a game, it should be FUN. How much fun do you have after doing SF forever? Diversity is good.
I think the bar looks like it'd be a fun thing to do.
I still CBA making a Dervish though haha.

Im so very sorry i brought shadow form up in two very similar threads about dervs tanking. My apologies.
I am just trying understand in what scenario in general PvE you would need a tank and why you would not just use sf in that case.
He says "this is nearly solely for caster/elemental mobs". Im curious as to where he and others need/want a tank.

if your making a build solely for anti caster you might wanna consider vow of silence for anti spell (nearly all your enchants are flash enchants so you can put them up right when vow ends and recast vow)
you also need more attacks unless your just going for tanking in which id take out mystic twister or sandstorm for mystic vigor

Ditch wind prayers completely
Extend Enchantments, Mirage cloak, Vow of Silence, Eternal Aura.
Then just put in filler.
If for some magical pixie reason you die, EA will activate and you can start all over again. Oh lets be even more trolllolol. Bring symbiosis and have the team mates bring enchant removal, mobs will never see it coming, trollolol

You can actually run a Shadow Form Dervish. You lose EBSoH but gain immunity to SF being interrupted.

Exactly. Signet of mystic speed. And you can also bring along the +hp and regen if your only role is tank.

why? Shield of Force just blocks next 1 attack. So immune to melee interupt only. Signet of mystic speed makes next 2 spells insta cast, so prevents any interupt for shadow form plus whatever you use after that.
But i guess it depends on the situation

Because Signet of Mystic Speed can be interrupted.
With Shield of Force cast before Shadowform, you can ignore any Spell and Physical interruptions (leaving only signets). Shield of Force blocks one attack, but knocks down all adjacent foes.
